Hypervigilance

A prey animal MUST be hyper vigilant to live. It is easier for a person that has been through trauma to understand horses on a deep level because they understand hyper vigilance. In order to communicate with a horse, you have to know what it feels like to be prey. , "I have your back. I will take care of you. I will do everything I can to keep you safe." Hyper vigilance:is a state of increased alertness. If you're in a state of hypervigilance, you're extremely sensitive to your surroundings. It can make you feel like you're alert to any hidden dangers, whether from other people or the environment. (from Healthline.com) When a horse has faith in you, they can relax. Be the calming member of your herd.
